We are Terry and Amy, married for 35 years, soon to be retired, and preparing to set sail aboard our new 2017 Leopard 40 catamaran. We've been planning this adventure for several years, but truly started the process in April 2017 when we signed the papers for our new boat. However, part of the great deal we got from Leopard Cats was that they would keep the boat for the 2017 Annapolis boat show. This gave us 6 months to get our house sold, sell/store/gift/trash all of our possessions, quit our jobs, and take care of all the details related to buying and moving onto a boat. Time is flying by as we take each step one by one, and we can't wait for October 10th when we will finally move onto our new home! |
World at Bay is our 2017 Leopard 40 catamaran. She is 40 feet long, 22 feet wide, and is basically a floating house, with 3 bedrooms (cabins), 2 bathrooms (heads), a very comfortable living area (salon), and both a front porch and covered back deck. The only difference is that if we don't like the view (or the neighbors), we can move our house to a new bay (or even a new country!) We thought for a long time about boat names, but couldn't quite find the right match. In summer 2016, we were at a Dixie Chicks concert in Charlotte, and when they played "Easy Silence", both of us looked at each other and knew we had found a perfect fit. Our new home will be our world at bay, and when we wish, will also keep the world at bay. |
