Current Location: Hickory, North Carolina
Miles Traveled: 0 Weather: Mostly sunny, hot, occasional showers, high-80s Highlights: I'm writing this blog entry from our plane that is zipping along at 650 knots and 30,000 feet above the ocean, winging us back to family and friends in North Carolina for the summer. It's such a big change from the slow pace of travel we've enjoyed over the past 2 years. We have sailed 6,700 miles on World at Bay, up and down the ICW, arount the Chesapeake, up and down the Potomac, through the Bahamas and back, and from Florida to the Virgin Islands, loving almost every minute and every mile. We've shared our adventures with family and friends, made new friends along the way, visited distant shores and exotic islands, and learned so much about both sailing and ourselves. We'll enjoy getting off the boat for the next 5 months, visiting with family and friends and getting our land legs back, but in November, we'll start a new cruising season, and will pick up the blog at that time. Until then, we'll sign off with best wishes and safe travels for the summer and hurricane season.
