Current Location: ICW MM 537, Beaufort, SC
Miles Traveled: 0 Weather: Clouudy morning, sunny and hot (low-90s) afternoon Highlights: Slept in this morning, then took the dinghy over to the town dock and walked around the town. Beaufort has a very nice waterfont area with interesting shops and restaurants, and some beautiful antebellum-style homes. Some of the homes were well tended, but we also walked past many neglected homes, and several are on the market. The town is over 300 years old (founded in 1611), and has a long history of prosperous times followed by periods of serious poverty, and it looks like maybe the most recent prosperous cycle is winding down. We grabbed a late lunch at one of the waterfront eateries, then back to the boat around 3PM, where we closed up the hatches, turned on the A/C, and relaxed and napped for the rest of the afternoon. Light dinner of leftovers and snacks tonight while catching up on NCIS and news, then off to bed around 11PM.
