Current Location: Jackson Creek Anchorage (Deltaville, VA)
Miles Traveled: 10 Weather: Mostly sunny, breezy, high-70s Highlights: Raised anchor around 10 and motored over to the Fish Bay marina for gas and diesel (after shooing all the mosquitoes off the boat). However, they had electrical problems, and pumps weren't operating. We waited around for a couple of hours for maintenance to show up, and even borrowed the marina bikes for a 2-mile ride to the grocery store and back, but around 2PM, pumps still weren't fixed, so we gave up and motored around the point to the Jackson Creek marina. This marina isn't even marked on ActiveCaptain or Aquamap, but turned out to be a very nice, full-service facility, and Jackson Creek turned out to be great for anchoring overnight with good protection all around. Topped the tanks up with 50 gallons of diesel, then dropped anchor around 3:30. Terry is fighting a cold, so he napped while Amy did a load of laundry and baked rolls. Pierogies with kiebasa, cabbage, and cranberry sauce for dinner tonight, then watched some TV (DWTS) before turning in for the night. Up early tomorrow to begin our overnight sail down to Ocracoke - calling for light rain in the morning, but should be good wind and weather otherwise.
