Current Location: Buck Island Anchorage (ICW MM57, north of Albemarle Sound)
Miles Traveled: 73 Weather: Cloudy, breezy (15-20 knots), high-70s Highlights: Raised anchor at 6AM today and motored east and NE into strong head winds and choppy seas for about 4 hours up past Oregon Inlet and Manteo. Averaged only 5 knots at 2500 RPM through most of the morning. Made the turn to the NW past Manteo around 11, and finally got some good sailing in the rest of the day. Averaged about 7.5 knots with 1 reef in up Albemarle Sound, and reached the North River and Buck Island anchorage around 4PM. Got settled, Terry took a well-deserved nap while Amy prepared dinner of shrimp over pasta and garden salad, then we watched a movie before turning in for the night. Hard part of the trip is pretty much behind us - should be easy travel days between here and Solomons.
