Current Location: Ocean World Marina, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
Miles Traveled: 0 Weather: Mostly sunny, breezy (10-15), mid-80s Highlights: Wind died a bit today, but forecast still calls for seas of 5-6 feet. Our weather window is still open, with Monday/Tuesday looking good for going across the Mona Passage, so current plan now is to leave tomorrow mid-morning, motor about 12 miles down to Sousa Bay, drop anchor long enough to run the water maker for a couple of hours, then start non-stop to either Escondido or all the way to Ponce, depending on how we feel. Alf and a friend of his (Barry Terry) came over in the morning to provide some advice. Barry is a delivery captain who has made these types of trips hundreds of times, and he thinks our plan is good. Walked into town to pick up some fresh produce at Juan's store, then back to the boat around 3 for a quick nap. Went over to Alf and Kelly's boat for sundowners; turned out that Kelly put together a full dinner spread for us (including Steve and John, plus Barry and his girl friend Marissa), which was delicious! Had a fabulous time chatting and partying with the group for a few hours, then good-bye hugs all around before we finally staggered back to the boat and crashed for the night.
